About the Librarian Mrs. DeLuca has been the librarian since 2005. She's a certified teacher librarian with a Masters degree in Library Information Science from Simmons College. Loves reading, kickboxing, art, and baking. Her previous profession was as a restaurant manager/ bakery owner.

January "Take Home a Hero" Lottery
Students can read any book with a rescue scene in it, fill out the Take Home A Hero form, and earn a lottery ticket to take home the life-sized cardboard cutout characters that will be decorating the Book Fair the first week of February. Once they come to the book fair, they can earn a lottery ticket for every $20 that they spend. The lottery drawing occurs at the end of the fair on Friday, the 7th.

When you finish, return it to the library and we'll assess and reward appropriately. So far 119 Dates and 31 Love Connections in only 10 days
New Year Breakfast Club So many students now have devices with internet access. Did you know, you can all borrow eBooks and audiobooks from our FBMS Overdrive lending library, and from any MA public library for free? Come to the Breakfast Club any school day in January at 7 am. (No admittance after 7:15) You'll get waffles and other Continental breakfast items while learning this valuable skill. Each student should learn:

How to successfully upload an eBook or audiobook
Once you've accomplished these tasks, you receive three scratch -n-sniff bookmark prizes (bacon and eggs, pancakes and maple syrup, and coffee) AND your name will be enterred in a drawing for the program's final BIG BREAKFAST (supersized foods). IMPORTANT NEWS FLASH!
Students must stop attending breakfasts to make room for other new students once they've accomplished the 3 goals

November Recipe contest This month, submit your favorite Thanksgiving recipes to the LMC to create this year's FBMS Holiday cookbook. You need to have specific measurements and directions (number of servings, temperatures, everything) and a couple sentences about yourself (cooking experience and why you choose this recipe). On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, bring in samples of your recipe for FBMS taste testers. They will vote for the school's favorite recipe and that student will win a $20 gift card to their favorite local store or food establishment! Then all recipes will be put into a book and sold at lunches for $1.00 each. All proceeds go to the Marshfield Food Pantry. Last couple of years we raised $45 -$75. Let's try for $100 this year! Catie's Apple Pie at the end won!

Bad hair day? Feeling Fat? Go on a blind date with a book. Books don't judge and you may meet the book of your dreams.
- Come to the library.
- Select a date.
- Sign a commitment form (to spend the 1st 30 pg.s together)
- Check it out.
- Unwrap your date!
If a love connection isn't made, return it for a small Valentine gift. Record why there was no connection: not a personality fit; too mature/not mature enough; not enough time to spend together...If you enjoy the book and finish it, then you get a beautiful chocolate Valentine pop - worthy of giving to your Mom (hint, hint)
So sad, no more dating! :( If you still have a date, you can keep spending time together. When you finish, return it to the library and we'll assess and reward appropriately.

So many students now have devices with internet access. Did you know, you can all borrow eBooks and audiobooks from our FBMS Overdrive lending library, and from any MA public library for free? Come to the Breakfast Club any school day in January at 7 am. (No admittance after 7:15) You'll get waffles and other Continental breakfast items while learning this valuable skill.
Each student should learn:
- How to get on our school's guest web access and download reading tool apps
- How to sign up our school's library as your prefered Overdrive Library
- How to successfully upload an eBook or audiobook
Once you've accomplished these tasks, you receive three scratch -n-sniff bookmark prizes (bacon and eggs, pancakes and maple syrup, and coffee)AND your name will be enterred in a drawing for the program's final BIG BREAKFAST (supersized foods).

November Recipe contest
This month, submit your favorite Thanksgiving recipes to the LMC to create this year's FBMS Holiday cookbook.
You need to have specific measurements and directions (number of servings, temperatures, everything) and a couple sentences about yourself (cooking experience and why you choose this recipe).
On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, bring in samples of your recipe for FBMS taste testers. They will vote for the school's favorite recipe and that student will win a $20 gift card to their favorite local store or food establishment!
Then all recipes will be put into a book and sold at lunches for $1.00 each. All proceeds go to the Marshfield Food Pantry. Last couple of years we raised $45 -$75. Let's try for $100 this year! Catie's Apple Pie at the end won!
